Love.
(The Angels Candle)
Love is the flame that lights all candles.
Love is what gets us through; it is what
we carry with us into the dark. For great is
your love, reaching to the heavens. To the
heavens, yes, but also to the human heart.
Love is infinite, colossal, the source and
centre of everything; it is the nature of God
yet for all this greatness, its destination is
our woundedness. Its arrival is imminent;
it is coming for you.
Christmas Day –
Jesus joy to the world!
(A light no darkness can ever put out)
Advent candles tell their story
on this Christmas Day.
Those who waited for God’s glory:
they prepared the way.
Christ is with us: loving, giving,
in us living, here today!
The Lord is King! Let earth rejoice!
