Reports from the March Church Council
for the Annual Meeting on Sunday 1st June.
Wiggles continues to flourish.
Numbers are between 3 and 8 children and it is a lovely little
group. We have had a couple of new ones join us. Those
that come tell others so we get new people on personal
recommendation which is nice. One lady who used to come
with her grandson now volunteers occasionally if we need
her to. Please continue to pray for the group, that we can be a
witness to those who come, and that we can grow.

Preloved Uniform Hub · March 2025
We continue to open every Friday 10-12 during warm
and welcome spaces.
We still have a problem with space. We keep getting more
donations than we can safely store. We did successfully
donate a lot of obsolete school jumpers and cardigans to the
Ukraine a couple of years ago and we are currently setting up
to do that again. Bobbing School changed their logo and now
Iwade have changed theirs. Rather than waste the clothing
it seems appropriate to send them to children who can use
them.
We have our regular clients but word is always spreading
and new people are reaching to us for help or to donate. It is
certainly a worthwhile project still.

JC Club · March 2025
JC Club continues to meet weekly. We fluctuate between 3
and 13 children. Most of them are regulars now, if not every
week, but we are getting to know them. Occasionally we
get a visitor who doesn’t come again.
We have started using materials from Scripture Union. They
are no longer available to purchase but were made free to
download. This gives us printable resources aimed at 4-14 yr
olds which is really helpful. Our age range is probably 2-16
at the moment.
They are bible based, and encourage us to look into the
stories of the bible while thinking about our everyday lives
and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. The children/
young people are keen to learn and take part in most
activities.
We have bought three adventure bibles which contain all
sorts of added comments for young people to make the Bible
come alive. They are useful.
Christine K and I alternate although sometimes Christine ends
up doing it more often. Derek, Annette, Margaret, Kathy are
all happy to help when needed.
Thank you for your prayers as a church for our young people.
It is thrilling to see young people eager to learn and grow
together.

Pastoral Report · March 2025
Pastoral work continues well at Sittingbourne Church, with
our members & Adherents. It continues outside of our
membership Friday’s Coffee morning, and Thursday L C.
Sadly we’re losing two P V’s in a few weeks. Eileen W &
Christine T, (after writing this report Eileen & Richard would
have moved.) Christine and Roger in a few months’ time.
They will be missed not only for their pastoral work, but other
aspects of Church life they’ve been involved in over the years.
Big thankyou goes to Eileen & Christine for this valuable work
they’ve been involved with over many years.
Annette SD has taken over Eileen’s pastoral list. Margaret L
(to be endorsed at C C) taken over Christine T’s list. Margaret
has been a P V in the past, but had to step down due to
family commitments.
We continue to remember birthdays, anniversaries & any
special achievements, or family announcements. From the 1st
November to date, we have seventy one members & twelve
Adherents. We’re meeting on the 7th March 12 -30 including
Holy Communion

Stewards report
Your stewards continue to serve you in an exemplary manner.
Jean, Linda, Margaret, Ethelyn and Kathy will remain, but
sadly we do say goodbye to Neil who stands down in
September. We would like to thank him for his support and
friendship whilst serving. That does leave us an opening
if someone would like to join us. The weekly tasks are
straightforward, and there are many helping hands to aid if
you need it.

Luncheon Club Report · March 2025
The Luncheon Club is maintaining its good numbers.
We average around 45 covers per session.
We have had new members since September 2024 and are
creeping up to our maximum capacity.
We do try to vary our menus very slightly, albeit by just
adding or omitting certain vegetable from the recipe.
Financially we were able to give the church £1,000 as at the
beginning of February 2025 and with prudent shopping and
budgeting we will add to that by the end of August.
We are indebted to our helpers, a group of volunteers
who we can always depend on.
We will always welcome new folk, and this coming session
have been delighted that John S has decided to join us.
The Luncheon Club only works because of membership but
more importantly because of teamwork and dedication.
