Prayer s of intercession
Gracious and Eternal God, full of grace and mercy,
You have called us into a people committed to personal
holiness and social holiness alike, to love You with our
whole heart and to love our neighbour as ourselves.
In that spirit, we lift up this world before You.
We pray for places torn by war and conflict, for refugees
and the displaced, we ask for an end to violence and the
grace to welcome the stranger, as Christ welcomed us.
We pray for the Church universal, and for the Methodist
church worldwide its clergy and lay people serving in
every aspect of worship. We pray for faithfulness in
proclaiming the gospel and in seeking justice for all
people. May they be people filled with compassion
rather than fear, building bridges rather than walls.
Father, as You are the Great Physician we pray for the
sick, the grieving, and all who are anxious in body, spirit
or mind. Comfort them with Your healing presence,
surround them with loving care and lay Your healing
hands upon them and make them whole.
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer
Father, we pray for all who are called to take up their
cross and follow Jesus, losing their lives for his sake in
order to truly find them, we pray for the grace to release
our grip on comfort, security, and self, and to trust You
fully.,
We pray for Christians around the world who face
persecution, hostility, or rejection because of their faith.
We pray for those who, like the disciples, are slandered
or mistreated for speaking the Truth, we ask for You to
give them courage, strength and protection.
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayerWe pray Father,
for our local government, our council members, mayors,
in this community and members of parliament. We
ask for integrity, wisdom, and a genuine concern for
the wellbeing of all residents, especially the poor
and marginalised among us. For governments and
authorities who restrict religious freedom or punish
believers for their convictions, we pray for softened
hearts and for justice to prevail, we ask for boldness
for those who suffer under such restriction.
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer
Gracious God, thank You for knowing us so completely
and loving us so fully. Hear these our prayers, comfort
the weary, and walk with us each day, through Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer
We pray for the leaders of the nations and of the world,
for heads of states and those who shape the course of
people’s lives. We pray that You would turn their hearts
away from pride and instead toward humility, and guide
them toward justice and lasting peace.
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer
