Prayer s of intercession
Brothers and sisters, our God is a God of unexpected
hospitality and deep compassion, who visits us in our
ordinary lives and sends us out to heal a weary world.
Confident that nothing is too wonderful for the Lord, let
us bring our prayers and petitions before Him.
Heavenly Father,
On this 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we look upon
our broken world with the same compassion Your Son
showed to the weary crowds. We lift up to You every
nation torn by war and every community fractured by
division. Dispel the darkness of hatred, guide world
leaders in the paths of justice, and let Your healing
peace reign in every human heart. Send us out as
labourers of Your peace, proclaiming that Your Kingdom
is near.
We pray for the global Church, the Methodist
Church Worldwide, North Kent Methodist Circuit,
and especially our own Sittingbourne Methodist
Church; called to be labourers in the Lord’s abundant
harvest. May all bishops, reverend ministers,
deacons, local preachers and our church leaders
be granted the compassion of Christ as they
look upon a world that is harassed and helpless.
Inspire us to proclaim boldly that the Kingdom of
Heaven is at hand.
Lord, in your mercy Here our prayers
We pray for our hearts to be opened like the tent
of Abraham and Sarah by the oaks of Mamre.
Give us the grace to welcome the stranger, the
immigrant, and the lonely, recognizing that in hospitality,
we often entertain God’s own messengers.

CIRCUIT NEWS AND PREACHING PLAN
We pray for all who are physically, mentally, or spiritually
ill. Echoing Christ’s command to his apostles, we ask
for your healing touch to cleanse what is broken,
cast out fear, and raise up those who are downcast.
May they experience your mercy through the care
of dedicated medical professionals and loving
communities.
We pray for our congregation gathered here today.
Having freely received the immense grace of your
love and salvation, help us to give freely of our time,
resources, and love to those who need it most.
Send more workers into the vineyard to care for your
scattered sheep.
Lord, in your mercy Here our prayers
Heavenly Father, you looked upon humanity with
compassion and chose us to carry out your work of love.
Hear the prayers we offer today, look past our frailties,
and strengthen us to be the hands and feet of your Son.
We ask this through Christ our Lord who is presently
sitting at your right-hand mediating for us.
Amen.

We pray for those who, like Sarah, find themselves
laughing in disbelief or despair over promises that
seem impossible. Restore faith to those struggling with
infertility, broken dreams, or heavy trials, and remind us
all of your eternal question: “Is anything too wonderful
for the Lord?”
