Prayer s of intercession
Father God on this the 3rd Sunday of Easter we
remember many things. Your Son’s suffering and
dying for our sins; how He rose again to bring hope
and salvation. We read how His Disciples could not
believe what they had heard. We read of Thomas
who wanted proof of His Lord’s existence. We read
of the men walking to Emmaus who did not even
recognise Him until He broke the bread at their meal.
Father we too need proof sometimes, please forgive
us. We find it difficult to believe in someone we
cannot see.
Father we can’t actually see the wind but we can
feel it on our faces; and we can experience the
damage done by violent storms. We pray Father
that at this time, a few weeks after Easter, we will
know and recognise who our Living Lord is and
feel His presence.
Father the World needs the “Wind of Change,“ where
your peace and love will enable us to move from fear
to faith, from doubt to certainty, to worship you with
strong faithful hearts.
Father God we pray that our World and it’s Leaders
will also recognise at last, that war, hate and violence
is not the answer to their love of power and greed.
PEACE, LOVE, and sometimes SILENCE is more
powerful and stronger than anything thought up
by Tyrants.
Father you are a God who provides us with all we
need; through the work of Farmers, Manufacturers,
Shipping Companies, Stores and shops. A God
who gives us the strength to work to pay our way
in Society.
Maybe we take all these things for granted, we have
never thought how goods get into our shops; they
are just there when we want them. Help us to think
beyond ourselves, to people who have to struggle
to obtain food, clothing and shelter, sometimes
only having one meal a day, if that.
Father help us to recognise you in our Brothers
and Sisters in Christ World Wide. Please give them
courage and strength to serve you no matter what
the circumstances are.
Help us to look for the good and the positive in all
we meet and in all situations
In your wisdom Father we ask that you fill us with
your Holy Spirit. Give us the courage to proclaim
with certainty that we worship a Living,
Loving, Saviour.
Amen. So be it.
