Walking With The Word Of God
A devotion for Trinity Sunday 31st. May 2026 · by Jacob Adofo
Theme: The Perfect Unity
Scriptures:
2 Corinthians 13:11-13: “Finally, brothers and sisters,
rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another,
be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and
peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
All God’s people here send their greetings. May the grace
of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
Matthew 28:18-20: “Then Jesus came to them and said,
‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the
very end of the age.’”
Meaning
These passages reveal the heart of the Christian faith:
community and commission. In 2 Corinthians, Paul
highlights the relational nature of God, showing that the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit model perfect unity. We are
called to mirror this divine fellowship by living in peace
and building each other up.
In Matthew, Jesus connects this inner community with an
outward mission. Because the Triune God is with us, we
are empowered to share His love with the world. We do
not walk alone; we go with the authority and constant
presence of Christ.
Benefits
Divine Presence: You receive the promise that Jesus is
always with you.
Supernatural Peace: God fills your relationships with
harmony as you strive for unity.
Clear Purpose: You gain a defined mission to impact lives
for eternity.
Empowered Grace: The love of the Trinity provides daily
strength to endure challenges.
A Concluding Story: The Missing Chord
As musicians in an orchestra tuned their instruments,
creating a chaotic wall of sound. Every musician focused
only on their own sheet music, ignoring the people sitting
next to them. The melody sounded fractured and harsh.
Suddenly, the conductor raised his baton. He reminded
the players of the composer’s vision: to play as one single,
beautiful voice. As the conductor signalled the downbeat,
the musicians locked eyes, listened to one another, and
aligned their pitch. A glorious, unified symphony filled the
concert hall, moving the audience to tears.
Like those musicians, we find our true strength when
we align our hearts with God and each other. Our unity
becomes the beautiful song that draws the world
to Christ.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the grace of Jesus and
the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Help me to live in peace
and unity with the people around me today. Grant me the
courage to share Your love with others, trusting that You
are always by my side.
Amen.
